What is DSL?
DSL stands for digital subscriber line. This technology sends a digital
signal over your standard telephone line that normally can not be heard over the
telephone and does not effect your dial tone or normal use of the phone. A
special modem is used to receive this signal and connect it to your computer
network.

Do I qualify?
You need to have a phone line from SBC and you must be no more that three
miles from their central office in your community (wire length). Call
us for verification.

What are the benefits of DSL?
There are several benefits. It's very fast, ten to twenty times
faster than dialup even on our lowest speed plan. It's always on.
No need to dialup or connect. It doesn't tie up a phone line. You
can be talking on the same line while you surf the internet. This saves
you money and time.

How does it compare to cable?
DSL gives you a private line direct to the central office. Cable is a
shared connection with all your neighbors. As a result, DSL is more
secure, more reliable and not subject to neighborhood "congestion" that can slow
you down. DSL leaves you free to choose less expensive TV programming
options such as satellite or over the air signals.

How does it compare to
satellite?
Satellite is a good alternative when DSL is not available. DSL and
satellite have similar download speeds but DSL is much faster for uploads and
has a much lower lag time (latency) which is better for gaming. DSL is
simpler and less expensive to install.

How soon can I get it?
DSL is usually provisioned in one week from when it is ordered.
