LiJoe (GSE guest from India), Howie, Phil, and Sam Door Peninsula Internet, Inc. was started June 9, 1998 by a group of local Investors after many months of discussion about why Sturgeon Bay did not have it's own local Internet Service. At the time, all that was available was a University of Wisconsin service called Wiscnet and they did not offer the newer 56k modems and often times the system seemed over capacity in many ways. Only one other commercial provider was available but they were from a city thirty miles away. Originally we started with just one product, dialup Internet access. Much has changed since then and we have kept up with technology, bringing affordable high speed Internet via Satellite, DSL, and Wireless and were the first to include effective email spam and virus filtering to all of our subscribers at no additional cost. What hasn't changed is our commitment to quality service and friendly LOCAL support. Many "outside companies" have come and gone, we remain thanks to the great support from our satisfied customers. Where we are located: We have network operation centers in Sturgeon Bay and Algoma. They are not open to the public for security reasons. Each POP is served by it's own T1. Business operations are handled from our office at 137 N Forestville Ave (Hwy 42) We're just north of "Honest Bob's" used car sales. |
